The Frodsham Plan Steering Group has now finalised the first draft of the plan and it has undergone it's statutory 6 week consultation. Feedback gained is now being considered.

Peter Vickery
I grew up in North London and lived in various parts of the UK before moving to Frodsham in 1982 with my wife Denise and our two sons James and Timothy. I have recently retired after 40 years as a professional engineer. After qualifying at Leeds University as a mechanical engineer, I moved into the automotive and nuclear industries, firstly as a development and design engineer and latterly as a manager developing technical strategies for nuclear waste management.
I’ve been associated with the Arts Centre in Castle Park since it started operations in the mid-1980s and I’m currently Chair of Trustees. I enjoy walking, gardening and history, but above all, meeting people and understanding what makes us all tick. I’m hoping to bring my enthusiasm for the town to the Neighbourhood Plan so that we can put something in place that really makes a difference.
Martin Maris
I was born in Essex and trained as a musician initially in Colchester, then at London University, followed by post-graduate studies at Trinity College of Music. I started teaching Music in a London high school followed by a lecturing post in a college of FE, before joining the BBC and working with the management team of the BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. I feel blessed to have spent my professional career witnessing the sheer power of music and its capacity to embrace, captivate and ‘speak’ to almost everybody.
I have lived in Frodsham for over 15 years with my partner Carole and step-daughter Alice. Having recently retired, I now find myself very busy and fully engaged in local/community life around Frodsham and the NW. Like my colleagues, I’m passionate about the future of Frodsham and hope that our work will preserve the essence of the town we all love, but also allow it to flourish and thrive in the future.
Caroline Ashton
I have lived in Frodsham for 34 years. I was born and brought up in Ludlow Shropshire. Up until eight years ago I worked for United Utilities. During my 35-year career with them and their predecessors, I held a number of middle management posts, all of which were customer facing to a greater or lesser extent. I have always been very people orientated and recognised as a good person to have on a team. I was always acknowledged as an excellent listener. During my working life I delivered many major capital projects, on time and on budget!
Since retiring I have now discovered I have time to make sure that I have integrated into Frodsham living. In 2015 I was elected onto Frodsham Town Council as one of 4 councilors to represent Overton and Five Crosses. I am also involved with the Girl Guides as District Commissioner for Kingsley and Norley District.
I do a great deal of walking and am actively interested in maintaining the wonderful network of footpaths we have on our doorstep. I was lucky enough to Chair the Frodsham Festival of Walks this year. I have also been on the Frodsham Christmas Festival committee for the last 3 years. I can often be seen at the Forest Hills where I participate in a wide range of keep fit classes, but my passion is Zumba!
During my career I was fortunate enough to find Frodsham. As soon as I visited ‘the village’ back in the early 80’s, I knew it was where I wanted to live. It is now my turn to give some of my time to the work of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, to ensure the town I fell in love with, and moved to in the mid 80’s, maintains ‘the feel’ that everyone describes!
Mark Warren
I moved to Frodsham with my family 19 years ago and quickly became fond of the town and community. Formerly a Town Councillor representing Lakes Ward, I am still embedded in the community as Chair of the North Cheshire Rail Users' Group; Secretary of the Weaver and Sandstone Cycle Forum and Governor at a local primary school - not to mention the Neighbourhood Plan of course!
I am married with a teenage son and am an airline pilot by profession.
Steve Carmody
I was born and brought up in South London before marrying my wife Lynn and moving to Kent. We have two children, Sarah and Russell and two grandchildren Eleanor and Lauren. I have recently retired after almost 40 years in the Utility Industry, undertaking a number of roles including both Operational and Systems Management, with my final 8 years in the Project Environment dealing with Business Change and Transformation.
After retiring we decided to move closer to our children/grandchildren who live in Ellesmere Port as well as Lynn's family around Preston. We settled upon Frodsham for its location, access to transport links, independent shops and the friendly community vibe we experienced during exploratory visits.
I enjoy travelling, socialising, walking and sport (mostly watching now) as well as spending quality time with our grandchildren. Whilst we are new to Frodsham and the FNP, I am keen to understand and embrace the history and culture of the town. As part of the FNP team I’d like to preserve and enhance all the good things that led us to choose this town as our new home.
Gill Hesketh
I have lived in Frodsham most of my life and appreciate just how lovely Frodsham is. Latterly I worked as a management consultant, helping organisations with their human resources and advising and assessing organisations for Investors in People. I also spent time in post 16 education teaching 3D arts subjects. I still have creative hobbies such as glass bead making and needle felting.
I love Frodsham and all its amenities and want the towns future development to match the wishes of the local community - those who know the town best.
I co-ordinate the Steering Group and provide administrative support to enable the members to meet their aim of producing a robust, local Neighbourhood Plan.
Andrew Rowe
I have lived in Frodsham all my life and been happily married for 40 years. I have two children and three grandchildren who give me great joy and of whom I am very proud. I attended Five Crosses, Overton and then on to Helsby Grammar school, as it was then!
I still work part time, with most of my career having been spent in the Aviation sector. I have worked at Manchester Airport and more recently, for an Events organisation that brings airports and airlines together, to discuss and establish new Air Services. Consequently, I have travelled extensively over the past 15 years.
I enjoy spending time with my family, sport and travel.
I joined the Neighbourhood Plan Group part way through 2018. I am passionate about assisting in making the right choices for our beautiful Town.
Chris Burrows
I was born, and lived, in Hertfordshire my entire life, before retiring and moving up to Frodsham with my long suffering wife Sue and cat on 1st February 2018.
Why Frodsham? It's closer to our two kids, the pace of life is slower, it's less crowded, there's more space, it seems more sociable.
To keep busy I garden, walk, shift scenery/props around for Frodsham Players & Panto group, maintain InFrodsham.uk and play modern board games with the Runcorn Board Games group.
Ashley McCraight
Originally from London & Nottingham respectively, my wife, Madeleine & I, moved to Frodsham from Plymouth in January 1983 with our six-week old daughter for me to start a new job in Glaxo’s pharmaceutical factory in Liverpool.
Our other two children were born here, and they all went to local schools, plus Brownies, Guides, Cubs, Sea Scouts etc. I helped organise the map reading and practices for Scout Camps and the Cheshire Hike for several years and Madeleine organised netball practices and matches for St Luke’s School.
We both love walking, running and cycling around the UK and overseas. I am also a member of the North Cheshire Cycle Group where I initially heard about the Frodsham Neighbourhood Plan. I soon realised that the Plan offers a great opportunity for residents to influence, maintain and improve the nature of Frodsham’s development over the next 10 years. I love the town and its location and having now retired from various business commitments, I have more time to help develop the Plan.
